Valerie Bunnell

Valerie has spent over fifteen years planning and coordinating events for a variety of organizations. She worked for the San Jose Giants (minor league team for the San Francisco Giants) hosting VIP guests and planning public relations events, including autograph sessions with players and baseball card shows. From 1990 through 1995, she worked for the Intercontinental Division of Tandem Computers in Cupertino, California. She was responsible for hosting visitors to their International Customer Center, planning on-site and off-site visitor meetings, arranging lodging and transportation, planning local tours, etc.

In 1996, Valerie helped open U.S. Space Camp California in Mountain View. She held a variety of positions during her nearly six years there. For most of her time at Space Camp, she worked in Community Relations where she helped develop relationships with community and business leaders. She was responsible for bringing in special guests and speakers, managing corporate events, planning fundraising and donations programs, and other promotional events. She also oversaw the scholarship program offered by Space Camp California.

Valerie is currently a member of the Board of Directors of The W Foundation, a supporting space-related organization formally aligned with the Chabot Space & Science Center and the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation. Their goal is to educate children about the exciting history of space exploration and to increase the public's understanding that a strong global commitment toward future manned space expeditions is an important key to accelerating our civilization's development.
